Finger Food Ideas

Finger foods are foods that can be eaten using fingers, but they are also foods that can be eaten SAFELY by the person with dementia. So, foods such as fried chicken and ribs are not included in this list. The list below suggests finger foods that can be enjoyed and eaten safely... 

BREAKFAST:
Slices of fruit
Toast
Scrambled egg squares
Pancakes (rolled up with either jelly or scrambled egg in the middle)
French Toast
Waffle slivers or squares
Cereal Bars

LUNCH: 
Sandwiches
Quiche
Spaghetti on bread
Slices of vegetables
Carrot or celery sticks
Cubed fruit (not in juice or sauce)

DINNER: 
Strips of meat (as long as the person can bite off pieces)
Squares of meat
Chicken nuggets
Vegetable slices
Potato pancakes
Potato squares
Rice Cakes
Fruit slices

DESSERTS:
Ice cream sandwich
Popsicle
Brownie
Cookies
Fruit bar
